The Kansas City Zoo is located in Swope Park.  With more than 200 acres of land, it is the 10th largest zoo in the United States.  Founded in 1909, the zoo is divided into five separate areas and is home to more than 1,300 animals.  An IMAX Theater, a great location and a variety of educational programs make the Kansas City Zoo a popular destination all year.
